MEET OUR PASTOR & LEAD SERVANT - NATE STEWART

Pastor Nate Stewart, a native of Macon, Georgia, answered his call to full-time ministry in 1997. With over 27 years of experience, he has traveled extensively across the country leading revivals, workshops, and seminars, and has shared the Gospel internationally in Haiti and Jamaica. Pastor Nate holds a Bachelor of Theology and a Master of Ministry degree in Christian Counseling.

In August 2017, while serving as Executive Pastor at House of Hope Atlanta and House of Hope Macon under the leadership of his spiritual mentor Dr. E. Dewey Smith, Jr., Pastor Nate received a divine call to lead Greater Life Church in San Diego. After much prayer and reflection, he accepted the role as the church’s third pastor in its then 53-year history, relocating his family to California.

Under Pastor Nate’s leadership, Greater Life Church has experienced remarkable growth, both spiritually and numerically, expanding from 75 members to over 1,200 active partners. This growth led to the acquisition of a new 3.8 million dollar, 4-acre campus in October 2022, featuring a 500-seat sanctuary, fellowship hall, preschool, and youth building. Today, Greater Life is recognized as one of San Diego’s fastest-growing multicultural and multigenerational churches, with a current partnership of over 2,000.

In August 2024, Pastor Nate led the closing of escrow to officially own the Glebe Road Campus. He also launched Greater Life South in the Chula Vista/Eastlake community in July 2024, and Greater Life North in Poway in September 2025, continuing to extend the church’s impact throughout the region.

Beyond his pastoral duties, Pastor Nate is the founder and host of The Faith Room, an influential web series reaching over 33,000 viewers monthly. His leadership and community impact have earned him honors such as San Diego Pastor of the Year (2019) and the “Good Shepherd” Award (2022 and 2024). He faithfully serves the community by officiating funerals for those without pastoral care, sits on the Black Advisory Board for San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, and has served on the NAACP San Diego Branch.

Pastor Nate’s passion lies in ministry development, which he expresses through his best-selling book, The Servant’s Playbook: Survival Strategies for Success in the Support Chair, and through mentoring pastors across the nation. He has trained countless church staff and servant leaders to thrive in their roles supporting God’s work and their shepherds.

Pastor Nate Stewart embodies the spirit of a true servant leader, and this is just the beginning of the great work God has called him to accomplish. He is married to Zykina Stewart and together they have one son, Carter.
